CyberNex ’25 Concludes Triumphantly

In a landmark moment for the North Central Province, CyberNex ’25, the first-ever ICT Day Competition of its kind, concluded successfully on 21 August 2025 at Kekirawa Central College. Organized by the ICT Society (KCCICTS), the event celebrated the extraordinary creativity, skill, and determination of Sri Lanka’s young tech talent.

CyberNex ’25 stood out for its pure competition-focused structure — no exhibitions, no learning sessions, and no side attractions — ensuring that the spotlight remained on skill, performance, and achievement. Students from leading schools across the island competed head-to-head in four major categories:

  • Code/XA – Coding Competition
  • An intense showdown in algorithmic programming, game development, and web development, where problem-solving met innovation.

  • Pixora – Graphic Design Competition
  • A platform for digital artists to express creativity through poster design and photo manipulation, pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.

  • Ragnar – Esports Championship (Call of Duty: Mobile)
  • Packed with energy and adrenaline, Royal College, Colombo secured victory after an electrifying series of matches.

  • Quizzara – ICT Quiz Competition
  • The final battle on ICT Day saw Ananda College, Colombo triumph over Dharmaraja College, Kandy, claiming the coveted Quizzara title.

A defining highlight of the event was the overwhelming enthusiasm and sportsmanship displayed by students. From early morning preparations to the final award ceremony, CyberNex ’25 captured the spirit of teamwork, friendship, and healthy competition. Teachers, coaches, and supporters played a heartwarming role — guiding, motivating, and celebrating every win and every learning moment.

At the closing ceremony, CyberNex ’25 honored the Overall Champions Trophy:

The event was made possible through the generous support of partners and sponsors, with IIT University serving as the Main Sponsor. Their presence not only elevated the competition but also gave participants a sense of belonging to the larger tech ecosystem of Sri Lanka — a reminder that passion and hard work can open doors to limitless opportunities.

CyberNex ’25 was more than a competition — it was a movement to empower ICT talent in rural Sri Lanka, a celebration of a dream that the ICT Society had long envisioned. The dedication of organizers, volunteers, teachers, and students turned that dream into reality, setting a remarkable precedent for the years ahead.

As the final applause echoed across the hall, one message was clear: CyberNex ’25 is only the beginning. The ICT Society is determined to take the event forward, bigger and bolder — nurturing a new generation of innovators who will shape the digital future of Sri Lanka.
