Celebrating Poson: "Anubudhurawa Poson Zone 2026" at Kekirawa Central College
Kekirawa Central College is set to host the "Anubudhurawa Poson Zone - 2026", organized by the Buddhist Association and the Prefect Guild. Running from June 26th to 30th, the celebrations will feature classroom Buddha statue enshrining, Bhakti Gee, Pandol and Lantern exhibitions, multiple Dansalas, and a scholarship program for 200 students under the guidance of venerable theros and the school administration.
In celebration of the sacred Poson Poya, Kekirawa Central College proudly announces the "Anubudhurawa Poson Zone - 2026". Organized collaboratively by the Buddhist Association and the Prefect Guild, this grand festival of devotion and generosity will take place over several days, illuminating the school and the surrounding community.
Programme Schedule
The Poson Zone will feature a variety of religious, cultural, and charitable activities lined up as follows:
June 26, 2026
- 8:00 A.M.: Enshrining Buddha statues in the Grade 9, 10, and 11 classrooms.
June 28, 2026
- From 6:00 P.M. onwards: Bhakti Gee (Devotional Songs), Pandol Exhibition, Poson Lantern Exhibition, and a Herbal Drink Dansala.
June 29, 2026
- From 12:00 P.M.: A Grand Rice Dansala.
- From 6:00 P.M. onwards: Pandol Exhibition, Poson Lantern Exhibition, and a Herbal Drink Dansala.
June 30, 2026
- 10:00 A.M.: Awarding scholarships to 200 low-income students, an initiative coordinated by the Chief Incumbent of the Awukana Rajamaha Viharaya.
- From 6:00 P.M. onwards: Pandol Exhibition, Poson Lantern Exhibition, and a Herbal Drink Dansala.
